Fishing Report

Fishing for most of June was excellent although very different at times. Because of late may storms and a late snow storm (ugg) the water was very cold. For this reason the main body of Lac Seul was very slow for fishing as water temperatures were only 51 to 55 degress for the first 3 weeks of June. The good thing was that this concentrated most fish in smaller lakes that heated up quicker. We had great success fishing a lake that is attached to lac Seul via a creek and also Clay lake. The lake off of Lac Seul had water that was almost 10 degrees warmer than the main lake, which meant many of the walleyes that would normally be in Lac Seul were staying in this lake much longer. We were seeing much bigger sizes for this reason than we normally do and this year our early season was excellent for large walleye. We caught many over 25 inches and almost every single quest caught multiple 25 to 30 inch fish. Our small bass lake was also excellent and we averaged 120 to 150 per day catches. Most were in the 14 to 18 inch range.

We pretty much only fished Clay, Broad Lake and our small lake in June because the fishing was good but when we start fishing our other lakes i will have more to report. Northerns were spotty as usual in June but we did catch many over 35 inches while jigging with 2 over 40 inches caught. Soon we will be casting for Muskie and Northern and firing on all cylinders.

The new boats are a big hit and with Scott and i both having 135 to 150 hp motors we get to the fish fast. Everyone loves Scotts new 20 footer and he even fished 5 people plus himself one day and had no problem at all.

We would love to see some new faces this summer so if you are thinking about coming up for a visit and some fishing please give us a call we will take care of you.
