Fishing Report June 17-
Sorry this is a little late fellas. Have been busy. First week of June was interesting to say the least. We are 3 weeks behind a normal season so we were fishing spawn and pre spawn areas the first week of June. We fished 4 to 8 feet mainly in Clay and Broad lake for walleyes. Mornings were slower but as the freezing water warmed in the afternoons we had some very good fishing. Averaging 100 plus per day with plenty of 20 plus inchers. Clay was a nice surprise, we went there because we wanted to
Catch smallmouth but the water was too cold for spawn so smallmouth were spotty but wow walleye fishing was fantastic plenty of nice 17 plus inchers, normally Clay can be a pain to catch nice fish in but the first week it was excellent. Broad lake was consistent as usual and we even had a big fish day in there which is not the norm and caught 8 fish over 26 inches and 2 over 27 with plenty of 20 plus inchers. The day after we caught 150 eyes and only 3 over 22. Just never know what sizes you will get up there but fishing is always good.
We also spent a wild day on Lake x. Tough lake to get into and glad I had my lift kit on my Tundra. Caught 175 smallmouth and called it a day. Here is a nice 27 inch caught by a new guest on Broad lake.
