Fishing Report June 27:
Decent weather was the best thing I can report in awhile along with a nice consistent bite. It finally stopped raining and we got some decent temperatures which is finally
Warming the water up. We were finally able to catch fish on the main body of Lac Seul with some consistency average temps were not warm by any means but 59 to 62 was much better then the sub 55 degree water we have had thus far. Went to Broad lake once caught plenty of decent fish and a few over 21 but my guests were here to fish Lac Seul for big ones so we concentrated on the main Lake. Caught most of our quality fish on the little sand bank, windigo point and McIntyre bay. Had some pretty incredible fishing concentrating only on big fish and caught a average of 4 over 26 each day. Wednesday we averaged 22 inches or better and really put a hurting on em, Thursday was slower but still put 90 fish in the boat. All 4 guests in the Michaud party caught a 27 inch walleye or better so we had a great time and I enjoyed their company.
Fly-in camp was good according to our last guests up there and they reported the portage lake was "on fire" but hey when isn't it :)
Here's a 26 inch caught by Grandpa Michaud. Sorry Steve and boys, maybe next year I will use one of your fish in the report. You know grandpa is always my favorite :)
