I have been fishing with some great clients from Chicago, Tim and Terry Crossin and their buddy Greg. We have had flat calm water all week and 90 degree heat every day. Surprisingly enough the walleyes and pike just kept on biting despite the heat wave. We have been averaging 150 fish per day on lac Seul and 8 plus over 25 inches per day to boot, the biggest so far this week has been 28 inches with many 26 and 27's. Northern fishing has been very consistent all summer and this week was no different on Tuesday we boated 60 to 65 with 10 over 36 inches 2 38 inchers and a 41 and 40.5 in the mix. Today we went to Clay to have a shore lunch and do some walleye/pike fishing and had a great time. Fished walleyes for a hour to catch our lunch and were surprised to find nice fish mixed in with the shore lunchers. Caught about 15
Walleyes over 20 inches a few 24's and 20 small ones in a hour then decided to start casting suicks for some big pike. Boated about 40 pike with 7 over 36 inches and caught 5 over 38.
Best part was having customers cook shore lunch for me. What a great treat. 32 years of guiding and that was the first
Time I ate a shore lunch I didn't have to cook thanks Tim and Terry. Here's a good pic of lunch and the new boat.
