Fished 7 days with the Miller group. Mike and his son Greg. We had a Indian summer and temps in the middle 70's all week a far cry from the low 40's earlier in the month. These guys wanted to focus on late season trophy bass and walleye fishing and wow the lakes didn't disappoint. Clay and Eagle were on fire and we only spent one fantastic day on Lac Seul. Every day we averaged over 35 smalllies with a dozen or so per day over 19 inches most days catching 5 or 6 over 20 inches with our biggest being a 21.5 inch 6 pound piggy. We fished the channel between portage bay and the main lake on eagle for trophy walleye and were rewarded with a 28 inch and a 31 inch 11 pound trophy with only 3 hours of trying. Clay was consistent as we spent half days catching large smallmouth in the morning and afternoons at coopers rapids for pike and walleye. I even fished for a change and caught a 29 inch 10 pound fat walleye.
Some of the best fall fishing I have seen in my 30 years of guiding and a real treat hanging out with some great guys for my last week. Here is some pics including the 31 inch walleye a 38 plus inch pike and some of the 20 plus inch bass we caught.
