Report July 13:
Sorry for the late report again folks. Camps been very busy and no days off. Fishing was up and down the last 10 days. Mayfly hatch in some
Lakes and not in others has scattered the fish a little. We did a lot of searching for hot spots. Most of our fish have been coming from mud flats with cabbage on them or shallow mud humps. One day we hammer the fish and run out of 12 dozen minnows by 2 pm and the next day the fish are gone and we start the search all over. Good fishing but a lot more work finding them some days. The fish have stabilized the last 4 days and I have been catching big fish. Not a ton of numbers but we caught 27 fish over 25 inches (biggest was 29) with the Fey party over 5 days on Lac Seul. Bass fishing was slow on Cliff lake so we concentrated on Lac Seul. Those bass love the mayflies too. All in all solid fishing for big fish and fishing ability of the guests was very important. Good fisherman do well in the cabbage during mayfly hatch and less experienced struggle sometimes. Here's a couple nice fish caught with my long time customers the Feys. A 28.5 inch walleye caught by Hamburg and a 37 inch pike caught on a Jig by Rich.
